With all the extras going on this time of year you need something quick and easy for dinner tonight. You don’t have time to go to the grocery store and you’re tired of fast food. Don’t stress it. You probably have items in your kitchen to whip up a perfectly great dinner. For instance, breakfast! Be it a full-blown, eggs and bacon and pancakes or a bowl of hot or cold cereal, it eats! Who says PB&J’s aren’t for dinner? Whatever you have available in your kitchen will be fine for dinner. No one will go to bed hungry.
Time Consuming or Quick and Easy?
We all have those favorite meals that it seems we make over and over again. For example, does your family like vegetable or green chile stew, homemade potato or chicken soup? Yummy, but they take time to prepare and you don’t always have the ingredients you need on hand. You can still have these when you’re pressed for time. For example, when you do make them, make enough for leftovers that you can reheat in a snap.
Just as delish are the quick easy meals. For instance, maybe your family likes breakfast food, eggs with bacon or a bowl of cereal or lunchtime food, easy-peasy grilled cheese or PB & J sandwiches. Have you ever tried taco salad, or egg-drop soup, with rice?
Add it to your grocery list.
Just like you, I get super busy or I might not have planned well and the “D” word comes up. For those times, keep ingredients on hand for the quick and easy meals that you can just whip up in a moments notice. Next time you go for groceries, pick up the ingredients for several of the quick and easy meals you like to make. You will be glad you did.
