With all the gadgets and time-saving machines you have, do you really save time or do you spend a lot of time “waiting”?

Start paying attention to how much time you spend actually waiting on something to finish a task. Take a cup of hot tea for example. If you put a teakettle on the stove to heat your water, you probably walk away and do other things while waiting for the whistle blow. Maybe you wipe down the countertop or maybe load the dishwasher. If you make your tea in the microwave, do you walk away for the brief amount of time it takes to brew your tea or do you stand by the machine, maybe drumming your fingertips on the counter? Same thing with reheating food in the microwave oven versus the oven or stove top. Are you programmed to “wait” for the appliance which is designed to save time? Time-saving or time-consuming?

Kitchen appliances that promise to save time.

Just in your kitchen alone, you probably have a microwave oven to cook and reheat food in a snap. You may have a pressure cooker or insta-pots to help you get dinner on the table quicker. Most of the newer refregerators have a special compartment to quickly chill bottles or cans of soda. What other gadgets do you have that save time in the kitchen?

Quick wash settings, no iron fabrics.

What’s in your laundry room? Washing machine and clothes dryer? Imagine how much time these two gems save? Could you imagine having to handwash your clothes and hang them on the line to dry. Most washing machines have a quick wash setting on them. Using an electric or gas clothes dryer is definitely quicker than hanging every individual piece of clothing on the clothesline. I still a clothesline every once in a while. I love the smell of clothesline dried sheets!

With all the neat time-saving gadgets you own, you should have tons of free time.
